Lady-Marie Dawson-Malcom

Lady Marie is a Corporate Partnerships Coordinator for the Spinal Injuries Association and freelance accessibility advisor. Prior to her injury, Lady Marie was a physical training instructor in the British army. She is also a mother and domestic abuse survivor, having sustained a C5 spinal cord injury at the hands of her partner.

Since becoming disabled she has studied four languages, obtained a BA (HONS) law degree and an MA in International Human Rights and Development law. She is an accessibility advisor on several National Panels where she advises on public transport, the built environment, and access to services and event spaces for disabled people.

She has consulted on the BBC Soap EastEnders and is also a Guest Lecturer at two London universities. Despite the limitations caused by her injury, she refuses to let it prevent her from living a fulfilled life.
