DESCRIPTION:Free webinar - 3rd February @ 12pm \nChildren's Mental Health Week is from 3rd to 9th February. It's a mental health awareness week that was launched in 2015 by Place2Be (a children's mental health charity that focuses its work in schools). The focus for 2025 is Know Yourself\, Grow Yourself\, with the aim to equip and empower children and young people across the UK to embrace self-awareness and explore what it means to them. \nWe are running a FREE webinar on 3rd February @ 12pm to support parents\, carers\, aunts\, uncles and grandparents with some helpful hints and tips to creating an environment and relationships with children and teens that will give them: \n\nSupport to learn to 'Know themselves'\nThe environment in which they can 'Grow themselves'...the emphasis being on "themselves"\n\n  \nWe will look at: \n\nWhy this theme is important\nSome common mistakes we can make when we approach our interactions with young people (and we all make them – no judgement here!)\nWays that we can adjust our interactions\nHow our personal investment in young people can make it hard to carry out some of these hints and tips so we will also look at ideas to separate "our stuff" from "their stuff"\n\n  \nThe session will be facilitated by Clare Gill and Liz Carter @ THC \nClare is a qualified counsellor and works part time as such at a secondary school in Hertfordshire. She has 2 teenagers. \nLiz has a BA in Psychology and philosophy and is a certified coach\, often working with parents. She also has 2 teenagers.

DESCRIPTION:This webinar is aimed at line managers\, CPD managers\, and all those who are managing direct reports and will discuss how to become more empathetic and knowledgeable in your support for those going through life events.\nThose going through significant life events have often been asked to continue to turn up at work without their emotions or performance being impacted by what is going on at home. Inclusion is about enabling our colleagues to show up as themselves and not leaving parts of themselves outside of the workplace. Therefore a huge part of the inclusion agenda must be to ensure line managers have the understanding\, empathy and skills to effectively and compassionately support with such life events as they arise. \nThis session will explore maternity\, paternity\, infertility\, bereavement\, miscarriage\, menopause and other unexpected life turns. \nLearning Outcomes:\n\nUnderstanding of why upskilling is required and the difference the line manager can make.\nA sense of the skills that a line manager can lean in to develop so as to support individuals.\nGreater empathy for the experience of individuals going through life events.\nTips and tools to better support direct reports and signposting to further resources.\n\nThis webinar will be led by Roxanne Hobbs and include real life stories from individuals experiencing such events.

DESCRIPTION:Healthy Dialogue or Cancel Culture? \nWith Rox and Adé Adeniji \nCancel culture is a modern form of ostracism in which someone is thrust out of social or professional circles – whether it be online\, on social media\, or in person. Those subject to this ostracism are said to have been “cancelled”. \nIn this dialogue\, Rox and Adé will explore the impact of cancel culture. Does it create systemic change and eradicate unpopular and unjust behaviour? Or does it limit constructive dialogue that could create true sustainable change.  We will speak to the fear of engaging in conversation - and the barriers in the way of healthy dialogue. \nWhat is the impact of shutting down? How can we enter conversations with the armour off\, willing to learn and grow? And whose responsibility is this? We will acknowledge polarising topics and suggest tools we can use to keep the conversation going about them\, including boundaries\, the 3 levels of listening\, empathy and self compassion.
