SUMMARY:Dare to Lead: January 2025
DESCRIPTION:3 day programme:  7th - 9th January \nIn Central London. \nYou may have heard the news that Brené Brown is partnering with BetterUp in the US with regards to delivering Dare to Lead. We aren't sure what this will mean for us but we have been allowed to run one more of these in this format before the end of January. \nBrené Brown has taught us what it means to dare greatly\, rise strong\, and brave the wilderness. Now\, based on research conducted with leaders\, change makers\, and culture shifters\, the Dare to Lead™ curriculum will show us how to put those ideas into practice so we can step up and lead. Leadership is not about titles or the corner office. It’s about the willingness to step up\, put yourself out there\, and lean into courage. The world is desperate for braver leaders. It’s time for all of us to step up. This is a curriculum for developing brave leaders and courageous cultures. It’s learning and practice that requires brave work\, tough conversations\, and truly showing up. Daring Leadership is a collection of four skill sets that are 100% teachable. \nThe curriculum addresses key challenges our research suggests that companies are grappling with:\n\nWe avoid tough conversations\, including giving honest\, productive feedback.\nRather than spending a reasonable amount of time proactively acknowledging and addressing the fears and feelings that show up during change and upheaval\, we spend an unreasonable amount of time managing problematic behaviours.\nDiminishing trust caused by a lack of connection and empathy.\nNot enough people are taking smart risks or creating and sharing bold ideas to meet changing demands and the insatiable need for innovation.\nWe get stuck and defined by setbacks\, disappointments\, and failures\, so instead of spending resources on clean-up to ensure that consumers\, stakeholders\, or internal processes are made whole\, we are spending too much time and energy reassuring team members who are questioning their contribution and value.\nToo much shame and blame\, not enough accountability and learning.\nPeople are opting out of vital conversations about diversity and inclusivity because they fear looking wrong\, saying something wrong\, or being wrong. Choosing our own comfort over hard conversations is the epitome of privilege\, and it corrodes trust and moves us away from meaningful and lasting change.\nWhen something goes wrong\, individuals and teams are rushing into ineffective or unsustainable solutions rather than staying with problem identification and solving. When we fix the wrong thing for the wrong reason\, the same problems continue to surface. It’s costly and demoralizing.\nOrganisational values are gauzy and assessed in terms of aspirations rather than actual behaviours that can be taught\, measured\, and evaluated.\nPerfectionism and fear are keeping people from learning and growing.\n\nThe common thread? How we deal with fear. We will teach the skills required to tackle these issues by becoming braver leaders. \nTraining structure:\nPart 1 Rumbling with vulnerability - How we react to fear and choosing to lean in to risk\, uncertainty and emotional exposure. \nPart 2 Living into Our Values - Clarity on our values and the gap between our desired values and our behaviour. \nPart 3 Braving Trust - How trust is built and destroyed in organisations. \nPart 4 Learning to Rise – Resilience; failing forward (learning whilst failing) . Dare to Lead™ is for you if you are a leader who wants to become braver in your leadership. \nDelivery:\nDare to Lead™ is a three day skills based curriculum based on research to support brave leaders in your organisation who want to build courageous cultures. This event will be delivered on the 7th\, 8th and 9th January 2025. Attendees will leave the session with a workbook and participate in online evaluation via the team in Houston. Individuals who successfully complete the full Dare to Lead™ programme will receive a certificate of completion and are allowed to put a Dare to Lead™ Trained badge on their LinkedIn account. Please note this doesn’t qualify you to teach the curriculum. If you would like to bring Dare to Lead™ to your organisation please contact us for further information. \nAbout the Facilitator\, Roxanne Hobbs:\nThe course will be facilitated by Roxanne Hobbs (CPCC\, PCC\, DWF\, CDTLF). Roxanne is the founder of The Hobbs Consultancy\, initially founded to effect change for women in the advertising industry. Since then she has come to realise that it isn’t the women that need fixing and that it is not just women who face barriers in the workplace. Roxanne’s specialism is inclusivity in the workplace - how to show up as yourself and how to create teams that feel able to show up as themselves. She believes that it is possible to have a fulfilling career and a happy home life and works with people to achieve just that. \nDare to Lead™ is based on the research of Brené Brown:\nDr. Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston where she holds the Huffington Brené Brown Endowed Chair at The Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past fifteen years studying courage\, vulnerability\, shame\, and empathy and is the author of three #1 New York Times bestsellers – The Gifts of Imperfection\, Daring Greatly\, and Rising Strong. Her TED talk – The Power of Vulnerability – is one of the top five most viewed TED talks in the world with over 25 million views. SUMMARY:Dare to Lead™
DESCRIPTION:Brené Brown has taught us what it means to dare greatly\, rise strong\, and brave the wilderness. Now\, based on new research conducted with leaders\, change makers\, and culture shifters\, the new Dare to Lead™ curriculum will show us how to put those ideas into practice so we can step up and lead. \nLeadership is not about titles or the corner office. It’s about the willingness to step up\, put yourself out there\, and lean into courage. The world is desperate for braver leaders. It’s time for all of us to step up. \nThis is a curriculum for developing brave leaders and courageous cultures. It’s learning and practice that requires brave work\, tough conversations\, and truly showing up. Daring leadership is a collection of four skill sets that are 100% teachable. \nThe curriculum addresses key challenges our research suggests that companies are grappling with:\n\nWe avoid tough conversations\, including giving honest\, productive feedback.\nRather than spending a reasonable amount of time proactively acknowledging and addressing the fears and feelings that show up during change and upheaval\, we spend an unreasonable amount of time managing problematic behaviours.\nDiminishing trust caused by a lack of connection and empathy.\nNot enough people are taking smart risks or creating and sharing bold ideasto meet changing demands and the insatiable need for innovation.\nWe get stuck and defined by setbacks\, disappointments\, and failures\, so instead of spending resources on clean-up to ensure that consumers\, stakeholders\, or internal processes are made whole\, we are spending too much time and energy reassuring team members who are questioning their contribution and value.\nToo much shame and blame\, not enough accountability and learning.\nPeople are opting out of vital conversations about diversity and inclusivity because they fear looking wrong\, saying something wrong\, or being wrong. It’s costly and demoralizing.\nOrganisational values are gauzy and assessed in terms of aspirations rather than actual behaviours that can be taught\, measured\, and evaluated.\nPerfectionism and fear are keeping people from learning and growing.\n\n  \nThe common thread? How we deal with fear. We will teach the skills required to tackle these issues by becoming braver leaders. \nTraining structure:\nPart 1 Rumbling with vulnerability - How we react to fear and choosing to lean in to risk\, uncertainty and emotional exposure. \nPart 2 Living into Our Values - Clarity on our values and the gap between our desired values and our behaviour. \nPart 3 Braving Trust - How trust is built and destroyed in organisations. \nPart 4 Learning to Rise – Resilience; failing forward (learning whilst failing) . \n  \nDare to Lead™ is for you if you are a leader who wants to become braver in your leadership. \n  \nDelivery:\nDare to Lead™ is a two day skills based curriculum based on research to support brave leaders in your organisation who want to build courageous cultures. \nIf this pre-planned event has to be delivered virtually\, we will run it over three mornings on the 9th\, 10th\, & 11th March\, 2021. \nAttendees will leave the session with a beautiful workbook and participate in online evaluation via the team in Houston. \nIndividuals who successfully complete the full 16-hour Dare to Lead™ programme will receive a certificate of completion and are allowed to put a Dare to Lead™ Trained badge on their LinkedIn account. Please note this doesn’t qualify you to teach the curriculum. \nIf you would like to bring Dare to Lead™ to your organisation please contact us for further information. \n  \nAbout the Facilitator\, Roxanne Hobbs:\nThe course will be facilitated by Roxanne Hobbs (CPCC\, PCC\, DWF\, CDTLF). \nDaring Greatly™ is based on the research of Brené Brown:\nDr. \nFurther information is available at https://brenebrown.com/thedaringway \nFor information on future Daring Greatly™ events in London please visit https://thc.staging.aura-software.com/dare-to-lead/
