Three quick updates from me this week

1) The Dare to Lead curriculum has landed! Woo hoo!
2) Info from a very interesting evening at the House of Lords
3) A nudge on our DiverseMinds 2.0 conference (have you got your tickets yet?)

Dare to Lead™
Brené Brown has taught us what it means to dare greatly, rise strong, and brave the wilderness. Now, based on new research conducted with leaders, change makers, and culture shifters, the new Dare to Lead curriculum will show us how to put those ideas into practice so we can step up and lead.

This is a curriculum for developing brave leaders and courageous cultures. Daring leadership is a collection of four skill sets that are 100% teachable. It’s learning and practice that requires brave work, tough conversations, and truly showing up.

We're running a pilot on the 25th and 26th February for anyone who wants to be one of the first to experience the curriculum. More info here.

BDA at the House of Lords
I was one of many leaders in workplace neurodiversity from across the public and private sectors invited to the House of Lords last week to launch 'Showcasing the ND Workplace' and their professional certification for workplace practitioners. Lord Addington hosted and Margaret Malpas MBE (hopefully coming to our DiverseMinds 2.0) led the piece of work.

There were three key messages

1 - The launch of 'Showcasing the ND Workplace' (please see here for more info) which presented a very clear business case for supporting Dyslexia in the workplace, along with the importance of considering recruitment, culture, infrastructure and training.

(a taster from it - 'Access to Work' costed out providing reasonable adjustments at a maximum £3,121, with the quantifiable returns at least £20,000)

2 - The launch of the 8th edition of their code of practice.  This is the deep dive in to what employers should be considering when creating dyslexia friendly workplaces.

3 - In the near future, they will be launching a LinkedIn group for those with an interest in workplace neurodiversity. If you would like to be involved, (if you don't already) please follow the BDA here. The idea is that different ND networking groups can learn from one another rather than reinventing the wheel each time.

A very interesting evening!

Neurodiversity - #DiverseMinds 2.0
We feel the conversation has been started about Neurodiversity and now it’s about more practical support.

At #DiverseMinds 2.0 we’ll have workshops from Genius Within and A Place With Purpose, a panel of diverse minds from within the industry and engaging speakers:

  • Jessie Hewitson – The Times Journalist and Author of ‘How to raise a happy autistic child’

  • Lucy Hobbs - founder of the Future is ND networking group
  • Xavier Rees - CEO of Havas London and Havas Helia
  • Victoria Buchanan - Exec Creative Director of Tribal

While last year was about raising awareness, the focus on this year's #DiverseMinds will move from insight to action. Click here to get your tickets.
