Jen Saw

MB BCh, BAO, LRCP&SI, DSFRH, PGCE, MRCGP

Jen has coached and been mentor for many Doctors over the years on a 1:1 and Group work basis. With a PGCE background in teaching, she has also been able to adapt and support others in their Appraisals to gain the most out of the process and be able to move forward to reach meaningful goals. She sees this as being a good launch pad to moving towards coaching senior executives and other professionals in non-medical fields.

Work with addictions and neurodiversity is her passion and she is keen to support those who are living the experience but also their work and educational environments for adapting to bring out the best potential.

I have wonderful experiences of living within many countries and cultures where inclusion and diversity were just a normal part of a richer fabric. It was in the subconscious. But there is more to be done in an active and structured manner to bring it into the conscious. It just seems obvious to me that extending this to gender, neurovariance, race, sex, religion, age, physical variance and seeking the strengths in these differences to enable successful work is the best recipe. We all may have blind spots and I want to try to help all my clients, individual and companies, to see them and move forward to an environment where everyone is comfortable, accounted for and thriving.

Experience

As an experienced Medical Doctor, Jen has worked in various settings. Trained in general practice with 20 years’ experience, Jen is hard to surprise and always ready to support and challenge. As a Lead Doctor in Private Medical practice in the City, she experienced the vast range of career challenges faced by the clients working in Banking, Law, Media and multinationals. Her techniques meant she could support all from junior interns to CEO’s. Her continued work within the NHS in inner city London alongside this means Jen has also seen the hardship people endure and has learned to support them to reach their potential and maximise their health outcomes whatever their backgrounds. Jen currently works “at the coal face” of Primary Care in Hoxton, central London. She holds other positions the Clinical Lead for Learning Disability and Autism in City and Hackney, NHS North East London Clinical Commissioning Group as well as being the Clinical Lead for Extended Access in City and Hackney GP Confederation. Alongside these, Jen is trained as a GP with Special Interest in Substance Misuse and this experience with addictions across the spectrum have enriched her understanding of human behaviour.
